Community Art From The Heart

Community art from the heart is a new project series that is different and outside of the box, created by JD Rider & David Vance. We will be showcasing creative imagery of people in the community, and writings about them all in one, to hopefully help to lift people’s spirits, and others as well. Our first edition to the series is of Amelia from Ontario, Canada. A great writer, artist and more.

We hope you all enjoy!.

Three Survivors of Cancer Discuss Their Struggles With Tinnitus and Hyperacusis, two Conditions They Consider Far Worse

Three Survivors of Cancer Discuss Their Struggles With Tinnitus and Hyperacusis, two Conditions They Consider Far Worse Written by J. D. Rider  David Vance, Susan Caswell, and Kathy McCain fought the dreaded condition cancer in various forms. It's the diagnosis a person hopes to never get. But even so, they testify that cancer was easy compared to tinnitus and hyperacusis, an aural-twisted duo whose savage decrees equate to endless traps and prison life. Who took their lives and everything and blew them all to smithereens. To preface this article, these are THEIR stories. THEIR thoughts. They're talking from experience. And not to stink on cancer, but in THEIR situations, tinnitus and hyperacusis have been far, far worse. Cancer was scary, horrible. We all know it is. It takes lives, squashes hope. But so do these aggressors, as suicides are a frequent climax to tinnitus and hyperacusis.  As we cover their impact on each individual, they'll explain why these ear traps a...

An invisible illness. Severe chronic pain caused by sound that affects the ears and the head

AN INVISIBLE ILLNESS. SEVERE CHRONIC PAIN CAUSED BY SOUND THAT AFFECTS THE EARS AND THE HEAD Ever wonder what people go through when dealing with an invisible chronic illness?, well that's what I am here to tell you all about. The conditions Hyperacusis / Noxacusis & Tinnitus, all three in which I suffer from are not to be taken lightly, they are all very painful. Imagine walking down the street and hearing the squealing from the train brakes from the train going by, or imagine a walkie talkie used by someone in a department store. These types of sounds can cause relentless pain for myself and many others who suffer from these conditions. The sounds of people talking to you, the shopping carts rolling by in the stores, the PA systems, the sounds of typing on the computer. These are sounds that normal hearing people do not recognize, but for someone who has Hyperacusis / Noxacusis and Tinnitus these sounds can cause extreme pain, and especially e...

It takes everything away from you

It strips you of everything in life worth while, when it gets to a severe and catastrophic level, there is no going back, unless a serious miracle happens. The only miracle we know of, is a cure, to regenerate hearing, to help the systems of the ear to return to normal, or even almost normal would be ideal to live a somewhat purposeful life again. The kettle is whistling non stop 24/7 in the head, and in the ears at 80 dbs, the brain won't calm down. The sounds of a jet engine roaring has taken place, sharp piercing knifes being stabbed into the ears, and the head. It’s not recognized in this world on a decent level at all, as it is so rare, severe Tinnitus & Noxacusis, (Pain Hyperacusis). The patients are the ones who need to advocate, and push for a cure while being exceedingly sick, while people who have normal hearing, are not interested in dabbling into the health condition that much at all, because there is rarely  any recognition for it, which means not much money....
